Crockpot Barbecue Ribs
|Crockpot Barbecue Ribs Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 racks of baby back ribs
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional, for extra smokiness)
Instructions:
1. Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs. Use a sharp knife to loosen one corner of the membrane, then grip it with a paper towel and peel it off.
2. Season both sides of the ribs with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Rub the seasonings evenly over the surface of the ribs.
3. Place the ribs in the slow cooker, standing them up along the walls with the meaty side facing outward.
4. In a bowl, mix together barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and liquid smoke if using.
5. Pour the barbecue sauce mixture over the ribs, ensuring they are well-coated.
6. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the ribs are tender. If you’re short on time, you can cook on high for 3-4 hours.
7. Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet.
8. Preheat your oven broiler or grill to medium-high heat.
9. Brush the ribs with additional barbecue sauce and broil or grill for 5-7 minutes, or until the edges become slightly caramelized.
10. Remove from the heat and let the ribs rest for a few minutes before cutting them into individual servings.
Serve your delicious crockpot barbecue ribs with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, cornbread, or potato salad. Enjoy the tender and flavorful ribs without the need for a grill!
