Valerie Bertinelli Introduces New Boyfriend, Two Years Post-Divorce – You May Know Him!
|Valerie Bertinelli has opened her heart once again after several tumultuous relationships, officially announcing her new romance on Instagram. At 63, having divorced Tom Vitale two years ago and lost her first husband, Eddie Van Halen, four years ago, Bertinelli confirmed her new status last Friday. She shared a selfie captioned with lyrics from Taylor Swift’s “So High School,” believed to reference her current partner, Travis Kelce: “I’ll drink what you think and I’m high from smoking your jokes all damn night.”
Entertainment Tonight reports that Valerie Bertinelli’s new beau is writer Mike Goodnough, who is recognized for his widely read blog, the Hoarse Whisperer.
Earlier in the month, Bertinelli sparked curiosity during an interview with USA TODAY, stating, “I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him. It’s a relationship unlike any I’ve ever had with a man. I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him. I was prepared to spend my days with my six cats and my dog, perfectly content.”
Addressing the speculation, Mike Goodnough confirmed his relationship with Bertinelli in a Substack essay titled “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…” this week. He humorously described how he playfully questioned “Ms. Bertinelli” in a “reporterly tone” about the rumors of their dating, to which she playfully responded, “It’s true. I totally am. You’re my boyfriend.”
In her latest cookbook, “Indulge,” Valerie Bertinelli opens up about her marriage to Eddie Van Halen. “Ed and I continued to love each other despite our divorce,” she writes, reflecting on their time together. “Had it not been for his cancer, perhaps we might have reunited,” she muses, though she labels such thoughts as wishful thinking.
Regarding her connection with Mike Goodnough, Valerie disclosed that she started following him on social media around 2016 or 2017, and he followed back in 2018. Their interactions began to pick up after Valerie’s 2022 divorce from Tom Vitale. Describing Goodnough, she noted, “He’s really super funny, an incredibly talented writer,” expressing her deep admiration for him.
In a conversation with PEOPLE Magazine, Bertinelli shared, “I’m in love. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions because I was convinced I’d never fall in love again.” It’s heartwarming to see Valerie open her heart to love once more!
