In 2010, Sandra Bullock welcomed her son, Louis, into her family, followed by the adoption of her daughter, Laila, in 2015. Since then, she has emerged as a passionate supporter of foster care and adoption. When Bullock’s children are labeled as her “adopted children,” it stings. She seeks to convey that a mother’s love knows no bounds, irrespective of biological ties.

“Let’s simply call these children ‘our kids.’ Avoid saying ‘my adopted child.’ No one labels their child as their ‘IVF child’ or their ‘oops, I got pregnant at a bar child.’ Let’s just say, ‘our children,'” she conveyed to the magazine.

Bullock emphasized that she isn’t concerned about people’s political affiliations; however, unless individuals are ready to care for every neglected child globally, they shouldn’t dictate women’s choices regarding their bodies.

During her interview with Hoda Kotb on the Today Show, Sandra Bullock became emotional. Both women share the experience of adopting children.

Countless neglected, abused, and unwanted children exist worldwide. Bullock and Kotb aim to highlight that individuals have the power to effect change. While the notion of welcoming a child into your life may seem daunting, it ultimately proves to be an immensely fulfilling journey.

Life often deviates from our anticipated paths. Some individuals may face challenges in conceiving children or find themselves in same-sex relationships. Others opt for a single lifestyle. Your circumstances might not align with societal norms of “normalcy.”

However, this doesn’t preclude you from relishing the wonders of parenthood. Sandra Bullock’s journey into motherhood began nine years ago when she adopted her first child. Since then, her children have flourished. Louis, now nine, possesses a maturity beyond his years, exhibiting traits of sensitivity, kindness, and wisdom. Bullock shared with InStyle magazine:

“Lou is supersensitive. I call him my 78-year-old son. He’s like Shecky Greene, a Jewish Catskills comic. He’s wise and kind. I saw that when they handed him to me. There was a spiritual bigness to him. “…Laila is just unafraid. She’s a fighter, and that’s the reason she’s here today. She fought to keep her spirit intact. Oh my god, what she is going to accomplish. She’s going to bring some real change.”
