As our parents, the pillars of our upbringing, age and necessitate aid, it becomes a natural part of life to witness this transition. The roles we play evolve; once reliant infants, we now find ourselves in positions of providing care and support to our aging mothers and fathers.
In certain cultural contexts, there persists a stigma associated with the notion of relocating parents to assisted living facilities. Tenny, a dedicated wife and mother of two, encountered a challenging situation. Her elderly and isolated mother-in-law became the focal point of a dilemma as her husband advocated for her to move in with them. Delving into Tenny’s circumstances, we explored and uncovered the complexities of her predicament.
