Man Defends His Love for 252 LB Woman with an Epic Response to Haters
|When we share our lives online, we open ourselves up to judgment. This has been the case for Matt and Brittany Montgomery, a young couple who love sharing photos of their life together online, despite facing criticism.
Their response to this negativity is both clever and a powerful reminder of the importance of standing firm in one’s beliefs.
Matt and Brittany’s story may seem familiar at first—two people meet, fall in love, and start building a life together. But there’s a twist: Matt is much larger than Brittany.
Brittany has faced challenges with self-acceptance throughout her life. She grew up feeling like she didn’t belong, often feeling drained after interactions with her overbearing parents. These experiences led her to struggle with her body image, feeling inadequate and out of place.
As a plus-size woman, Brittany encountered two types of men: those who wanted her to lose weight and those who fetishized her curves. After a series of disappointing relationships, she considered giving up on love altogether.
But fate had other plans. In August 2020, she met Matt Montgomery online. Despite their physical differences, they formed an unbreakable bond.
“I was hesitant at first,” Brittany admitted. “I’ve been in relationships where guys have told me they would leave if I didn’t start dieting or lose weight. It took a toll on my self-confidence, and at one point, I did start trying to change my size.”
However, their love for each other was unwavering. After Matt proposed on January 30, 2022, they eagerly began planning their future together.
They are completely at ease with each other but are aware of how outsiders perceive their relationship. Matt commented on the negative reactions they receive online, saying, “People suggest I’m not big enough or man enough for her. I do notice people staring when we walk down the street…”
Despite the criticism, their love remains strong. Matt’s past relationships with women of “normal” size didn’t fulfill him the way Brittany does. He knows she is his soulmate, loving her for who she is and striving to make her happy.
He recently expressed his deep affection for her, saying, “You are worthy, deserving of infinite love every single day and more. The way I look at you and the way you look at me shows that we are meant to be.”
In response to the negativity, Matt has taken to social media, posting photos of him and Brittany alongside some of the unpleasant comments they’ve received, turning the criticism into a testament to the depth of their relationship. It’s a brilliant comeback to the naysayers!
The couple is working to normalize relationships between people of different sizes. Brittany wishes “mixed-weight relationships were more common and more the norm.”
Just last month, the couple announced they are expecting their second child, Lakelyn, in September 2023. We wish them all the best.
Ultimately, finding true love and happiness doesn’t follow any set rules. We should all strive to embrace and love each other, no matter the circumstances.
