Demi Moore Stuns at Met Gala in Dress Crafted from Wallpaper, Embroidered Over 11,000 Hours

As anticipated, the 2024 Met Gala showcased an array of eccentric and captivating ensembles, with actress Demi Moore stealing the spotlight.

Making her first appearance at the event in five years, the 61-year-old graced the Met Gala red carpet in a gown crafted from an unexpected material—wallpaper!

Moore’s unique outfit featured heart-shaped wings extending from her sides, adorned with a pink-and-white floral design complemented by diamond jewelry from Cartier.

Capturing the attention of photographers and fans worldwide, Moore shared that the dress was surprisingly lightweight and even inspired a desire to dance.

Designed by Harris Reed, the elegant gown boasts an astonishing 11,000 hours of silk embroidery, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship behind its creation.

“The inspiration for Demi’s look tonight came from this incredible Cartier necklace,” the designer revealed at the event. “It evoked a floral feeling for me. The entire ensemble is crafted from vintage archival wallpaper that we repurposed. It’s 11,000 hours of silk embroidery, transformed into the concept of her blossoming on the carpet. I aimed to be the vines to her thorns.”

Moore’s last Met Gala appearance was in the pre-COVID-19 pandemic era of 2019, where she opted for an all-black gown with a plunging neckline by Saint Laurent.

In a recent headline-making appearance at Dolce and Gabbana’s 40th anniversary party, the Indecent Proposal star turned heads in a sheer black dress paired with simple black undergarments and heels. With minimal makeup—soft-pink lipstick and bold mascara—Moore allowed her dress to steal the spotlight, while her dark locks cascaded down to her waist, sans jewelry.
