Danny DeVito Reveals His True Feelings For Wife Rhea Perlman 12 Years After Separation

Danny DeVito and his wife, Rhea Perlman, have been separated for over a decade, but their relationship is as strong as ever.

The actors, who tied the knot in 1982, revealed their separation in October 2012. Although they have been living in separate residences, they never officially divorced. In 2020, Rhea shared with Andy Cohen that she and Danny have no intentions of legally dissolving their marriage.

“Why?” she inquired.

During a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, Danny explained that there is no bitterness between him and his estranged wife. They remain close, prioritizing their family above all.

“We’re doing well. We share time with our new granddaughter and see each other frequently,” he mentioned.

The couple has been together for most of their lives. They first crossed paths in 1970 when Rhea was 23 and Danny was 25. Shortly after meeting, Rhea moved into Danny’s Manhattan residence. They lived together there until their marriage and eventual separation.

“Well, you know, Rhea and I first met in 1970,” he shared. “We’ve been together since then, and over the years, you just grow together. You get to a point where you can almost feel what the other is feeling.”

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman have shared most of their lives together. During this time, they raised three children: Lucy, Grace, and Jake. They also collaborated on numerous film projects, taking on roles as actors, producers, and directors. Experiencing all the highs and lows of life side by side has only strengthened their bond.

The couple celebrated the birth of their first grandchild, Sinclair, in March 2023 and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of another.

“Yesterday was Lucy’s birthday,” Danny continued. “We gathered for a family birthday celebration. We’re a tight-knit family.”

Danny explains that he and Rhea frequently spend time together, and when they’re not physically together, they’re often in communication. Although their relationship dynamics have shifted, their connection remains strong. They recently took a family vacation together.

“The whole family was there,” Danny added. “I think that’s an important part of it. Regardless of our living arrangements, we find ways to be together in many aspects.”
