Although a stroke is unpredictable and can surprise you, the truth is that they do not come from nowhere and there are certain factors that cause strokes to occur.
If you want to know what things you can do to avoid this fatal disease, keep reading.
Strokes don’t come out of nowhere
1- Get rid of a sedentary lifestyle
We are not telling you that you have to kill yourself in the gym every day or run a half marathon, but we do recommend that you leave laziness aside and abandon a sedentary lifestyle.
Try to take a walk of about 20 minutes every day and your chances of having a stroke will be significantly reduced believe it or not.
2- Take care of your sleep
Both short and long sleeps (more than 10 hours) can markedly increase the risk of stroke.
Ideally, you should sleep between 7 and 8 hours a day to avoid unnecessary risks.
3- Watch your headaches
Actually having a headache or migraines is not something very serious and does not usually alarm, but you should control this pain if it is accompanied by moments of blindness or flashes of light.
Talk to your doctor and more if you are a woman, because the female sex is more at risk of having a stroke than the male.
4- You have to be aware of the signs
Our body often sends us signals and needs to know if you have some type of cardiac arrhythmia. This has symptoms like shortness of breath or chest pain and occurs when the heart pumps blood. The problem is that this disease is linked to stroke and can increase your risk.
Being stressed and aggressive all the time will not only cause you to have a hard time and premature aging, but unfortunately, it can increase the risk of these types of diseases since these moods can enlarge the arteries in the neck.
6- Bonus tracks
Get checked regularly as some heart conditions, high cholesterol, high blood pressure or diabetes put you at much higher risk of stroke. On the other hand, try to maintain a healthy weight and a healthy and varied diet.
