Jennifer Lopez’s first husband makes shock claim after she files for divorce from Ben Affleck

Just when it seemed things couldn’t get any worse for Jennifer Lopez, one of her ex-husbands has spoken out about the collapse of her marriage to Ben Affleck.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve likely heard the rumors that JLo and Affleck’s relationship had been struggling throughout much of 2024. After months of speculation, it was confirmed last month that the superstar couple would be going their separate ways.

Lopez’s decision to file for divorce from the *Gone Girl* star—on the second anniversary of their 2022 Las Vegas wedding, no less—marked the end of a long-anticipated breakup that had kept fans guessing for months.

When Lopez and Affleck first rekindled their romance—having been engaged in the early 2000s—it seemed like they were destined for the fairytale ending that had eluded them nearly 20 years ago.

It was said that they had matured emotionally, learned important life lessons, and, after years apart, found their way back to each other. What could possibly go wrong?

Unfortunately, quite a lot. Earlier this year, rumors started swirling that Lopez and Affleck were struggling to make their marriage work. Speculation grew that Affleck had moved out of their lavish Beverly Hills home, and both were seen without their wedding rings, fueling further talk of trouble in paradise.

Most would agree that the signs were there, but it wasn’t until Lopez filed for divorce in late August that fans finally got a clear answer about the future of ‘Bennifer.’

This will be Affleck’s second divorce, while for Lopez, it marks the fourth time she has ended a marriage.

In an interesting turn, JLo’s first husband, Ojani Noa, has now spoken out, reflecting on the challenges of being in a relationship with a star of Lopez’s caliber.

In an interview with the *Daily Mail*, Noa shared, “We would have arguments in the car, and then 20 minutes later, we’d have to act like everything was perfect.”

The couple first met in Miami in 1997, when Noa was working as a waiter, and Lopez was filming *Blood and Wine* with Jack Nicholson and Michael Caine.

“We started discussing marriage just months into our serious relationship, and I proposed about a year and a half after we met,” Noa recalled.

“I was the first, the pioneer. I was there at the start of her career, supporting her through her anxieties and insecurities,” Noa shared.

When reflecting on their breakup, Noa didn’t hold back his feelings.

“I believe that once she got what she wanted, I was no longer necessary,” he said bluntly.

“I invested a lot of time and effort into loving her. But when you’re in a relationship, it’s important to spend quality time together, not just focus on being in front of the camera,” Noa remarked.
