Woman Surprises Partner with Pregnancy News After Years of Trying, But His Shocking Reaction Changes Everything

After six years of struggling to conceive, a 26-year-old woman was overjoyed to finally learn she was pregnant. Wanting to share the news with her partner on his 30th birthday, she was left stunned by his unexpected reaction.

The couple had been together for ten years, and starting a family had always been part of their plans. When the woman shared her story on Reddit, the online community quickly rallied behind her, criticizing her partner’s behavior. A month later, she provided an update on the situation.

In her original post, the woman (referred to as OP) explained that she had been feeling unwell for several days but was too busy with work to visit a doctor. On the morning of her partner’s birthday, she finally went to the doctor, who confirmed her pregnancy. Overwhelmed with joy after years of trying, she decided to surprise her partner with the news when she returned home.

However, when she got back, her partner was deep in conversation with one of her friends. Eager to share the news in private, she pulled him aside, but he brushed her off. Unable to contain her excitement, she announced the pregnancy anyway. To her shock, her partner responded angrily, accusing her of ruining his birthday and saying the day was supposed to be about him.

Days later, the situation took an even darker turn. OP revealed on Reddit that her partner broke up with her just ten days after the pregnancy announcement, admitting he had been seeing another woman. To her disbelief, he even offered her money to terminate the pregnancy, which she refused. He then gave her two weeks to move out of their shared home.

OP also shared that her partner had never been interested in marriage, believing it was unnecessary to prove love. She also revealed that he had discouraged her from attending college because it was too far from home, controlling many aspects of her life.

Reflecting on the experience, OP said it taught her to stand up for herself rather than being a “doormat” for others. While this newfound confidence upset some people in her life, she knew it was the right step forward.

Most Reddit users expressed their support for OP, sympathizing with her situation and criticizing her partner for leading her to believe he wanted a child. Many praised her strength for walking away and refusing to give in to his demands.
