Zurich Film Festival: Pamela Anderson To Be Honoured With Golden Eye Award

Pamela Anderson is set to be honored with the prestigious Golden Eye award at the 20th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) in recognition of her remarkable career. The festival, taking place from October 3 to 13, will see the *Baywatch* star receive the award on October 4. Anderson will also present her latest feature film, *The Last Showgirl*, as reported by *Variety*.

Directed by Gia Coppola, the film stars Anderson as Shelly, a 50-year-old showgirl whose Las Vegas act is canceled after 30 years, leaving her to face an uncertain future while attempting to repair her relationship with her daughter. Shelly is supported by her colleague Annette, played by Jamie Lee Curtis. The film also features a star-studded cast, including Dave Bautista, John Clofine, Billie Lourd, Patrick Hilgart, Jason Schwartzman, Kiernan Shipka, and Brenda Song.

The story of Shelly, a showgirl facing the harsh realities of an uncertain future after 30 years on stage, is deeply human. Anderson’s performance, as described by Christian Jungen, seems to transcend her iconic roles, delving into the complexities of aging, relationships, and self-worth. Her portrayal, along with the support of a stellar cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis, appears to weave a narrative of self-discovery and redemption.

This award could symbolize not only a recognition of Anderson’s past contributions but also a celebration of a new chapter in her career, one that perhaps signals a more nuanced and emotionally rich direction. The praise from Jungen, especially his call for an Oscar nomination, elevates Anderson’s performance to a new level of critical acclaim, suggesting this could be a defining moment in her legacy.

Other celebrities who will be honoured at the Zurich Film Festival include Kate Winslet, Jude Law and Alicia Vikander.

Pamela Anderson is widely recognized for her iconic portrayal of Casey Jean, also known as CJ Parker, in the hit 1989 television series *Baywatch*, which followed the lives of a team of lifeguards. Beyond *Baywatch*, Anderson has starred in a variety of films, including *Barb Wire*, *Showgirls*, *Naked Souls*, *Raw Justice*, and the comedy *Scary Movie 3*.
