Watch: Emily Ann Roberts Pulled a Hilarious Prank on Thomas Rhett During Their Final Tour Stop and His Reaction Was Priceless!
After months on the road together, Emily Ann Roberts found the perfect way to give Thomas Rhett a memory he probably won’t forget anytime soon.
As the Soundtrack to Life Tour approached its final show in Omaha, Nebraska, Roberts decided it was time to turn the tables on her tourmate with a disguise so ridiculous that Rhett couldn’t help but laugh.

The fun began back in July, when Thomas Rhett launched the tour in Nashville. Roberts joined him on the road, sharing the stage and plenty of behind-the-scenes moments along the way. Over the months, she had been dressing up in different disguises for a running joke she called “Operation Ticket Upgrade.”
But one particular costume gave Rhett an idea of his own.
“Be careful what you wish for, buddy!”
Roberts explained in a behind-the-scenes video that Rhett had recently seen her dressed up as Ronnie Dunn. After spotting the look, he jokingly challenged her to come out and perform “Heads Carolina, Tails California” in costume at the final show in Omaha.
Roberts’ response was simple: “No.”
But Rhett apparently wasn’t going to let the idea go.
So, for the tour’s final night, she decided to give him exactly what he’d asked for—only with her own hilarious twist.
The disguise that stole the show

Roberts transformed herself with a wig, a fake beard, and Thomas Rhett merchandise, creating a look that was almost impossible to take seriously. She even brought a blonde wig and her own merchandise for Rhett to wear during the performance.
Then came the moment.
As Roberts appeared onstage to duet with Rhett on Jo Dee Messina’s country hit “Heads Carolina, Tails California,” the surprise was revealed. Rhett immediately burst into laughter, making it clear that the prank had landed exactly as Roberts had hoped.
The performance became a memorable way to close out a tour filled with music, laughter, and the kind of friendships that can grow when artists spend months traveling and working together.
Roberts’ husband, Chris Sasser, also shared the prank on the Sasser House Instagram account, giving fans another look at the funny moment.

A perfect ending to the tour
The Soundtrack to Life Tour wrapped up on October 24 at CHI Health Center in Omaha, bringing the long run of shows to a close. Several other artists joined Rhett on select dates, including Kashus Culpepper, ERNEST, Zach John King, Vincent Mason, and Conner Smith.
But for Roberts, the final show came with an extra surprise—one that turned a playful backstage joke into a moment worth remembering.
Sometimes, the best tour memories aren’t planned in a rehearsal or written into a setlist. They’re the unexpected moments when the music stops for a second, everyone starts laughing, and a simple joke becomes part of the story.
And judging by Thomas Rhett’s reaction, Emily Ann Roberts chose the perfect time to remind him of one important rule: be careful what you wish for!
