|Mocking individuals who are approaching the final stages of their life is an action that is generally considered insensitive and in poor taste. However, human nature is such that people occasionally resort to humor as a coping mechanism, even in the face of mortality. Whispering firmly to the dying man, the priest said,
“Denounce the devil! Let him know how little you think of his evil!”
The dying man said nothing.
The priest repeated his order.
Still, the dying man said nothing.
