Megyn Kelly Calls Out Robert De Niro, Brands Him ‘Colossally Stupid

Megyn Kelly has openly criticized Robert De Niro’s recent comments about the American people, referring to them as “colossally stupid.” On her program, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” she discussed De Niro’s political activism and questioned its effectiveness. Reflecting on her time at Fox News, Kelly recalled an exclusive interview where De Niro first voiced his disdain for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign against Hillary Clinton. Kelly stated, “We had Robert De Niro on camera in an exclusive rant about the ex-president. It was the first time he’d really come out and said how he felt about politics. And we broke that on my show.”

Kelly questioned the impact of De Niro’s political involvement, pointing out that his efforts did not prevent Trump’s 2016 victory. She wondered, “So if he couldn’t make any change in 2016, why does he think he can do it now?”

Megyn Kelly’s remarks followed a press conference where Robert De Niro expressed his deep love for his city and concerns about the potential dangers posed by Donald Trump. De Niro stated, “I love this city. I don’t want to destroy it. But they will destroy not only the city but the country, and eventually he could destroy the world.”

In her response, Kelly criticized De Niro’s comments as “colossally stupid.” She argued that speakers at politically charged events should be universally respected, which she claimed De Niro is not, due to his strong partisan views. Kelly described him as a prime example of “Trump derangement syndrome,” asserting that his outspoken political opinions have made him an ineffective spokesperson in such contexts.
