When Elvis Presley ‘Duetted’ With His Daughter Lisa Marie On The Song ‘Where No One Stands Alone,’ Creating An Extraordinary Musical Experience For Fans
|Forty years after Elvis Presley’s death, a touching duet featuring him and his daughter Lisa Marie Presley was released.
The music video for “Where No One Stands Alone” showcases the poignant duet between Elvis and Lisa Marie. This track is part of a 2018 Elvis compilation that features new instrumental and backing vocal arrangements set to classic vocal recordings from his gospel albums, “How Great Thou Art” and “He Touched Me.”
Tragically, Lisa Marie Presley passed away in 2023 at the age of 54.
Lisa Marie Presley shared her emotional experience working on the song “Where No One Stands Alone” in an interview with ITV’s Lorraine. “I just felt really emotional,” she said about the release. “Having a good cry while singing is never fun.”
She added, “I mustered up the courage to remain calm, yet I sensed an intense bond with both him and the melody.”
While Lisa Marie said she didn’t communicate directly with her father, she drew heavily on her memories. “I don’t say I communicate with [him], but I do recall everything and everything that… As was the case with this particular record, I can just rely on my recollection, files, and the occasional request for assistance.”
The experience felt deeply spiritual for her. “It was as if someone reached down and touched me. A tiny piece of that was there.”
After the duet’s release, Lisa Marie faced significant personal tragedies, including the devastating loss of her son Benjamin Keough in 2020 at the age of 27.
Her father, Elvis Presley, had passed away when Lisa Marie was just nine years old. In a poignant continuation of family legacy, her son Benjamin was laid to rest at Graceland, just three months after his grandfather, marking the first funeral at Graceland since it opened to the public.
