Reflecting on her time at Fox News, Kelly recalled an exclusive interview where De Niro first voiced his disdain for Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign against Hillary Clinton. Kelly stated, “We had Robert De Niro on camera in an exclusive rant about the ex-president. It was the first time he’d really come out and said how he felt about politics. And we broke that on my show.”

Kelly questioned the impact of De Niro’s political involvement, pointing out that his efforts did not prevent Trump’s 2016 victory. She wondered, “So if he couldn’t make any change in 2016, why does he think he can do it now?”
