Mariska Hargitay Halts ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Filming to Assist Lost Child
|Mariska Hargitay, known for her role as a police officer on TV for the past 25 years, recently found herself in a real-life rescue scenario when a lost child mistook her for an actual officer.
The actress and mother of three stopped filming for about 20 minutes to assist the child in finding their mother.
A witness reported to People that on April 10, a young girl became separated from her mother at the Anne Loftus Playground in Fort Tryon Park.
Unaware of Hargitay’s scene partner, Ice-T, and the surrounding film crew, the girl approached Hargitay and asked for help.
Hargitay halted production for 20 minutes to assist the little girl in searching for her mother.
Fortunately, they were reunited in less than half an hour.
Hargitay has played Olivia Benson on Law and Order: SVU since the series premiere in 1999. The show is currently in its 25th season.
It looks like all those years of playing a police officer on TV paid off! Thanks to Mariska for helping the young girl find her mother.
