Country Music Legend Ray Stevens Suffering Broken Neck in Fall

Country music fans are sending their well wishes to legendary entertainer Ray Stevens after news broke that the Country Music Hall of Famer suffered a serious fall in Nashville.

According to a statement from his team, the 87-year-old star fell on Sunday, March 29, resulting in a broken neck.

Fortunately, the two-time Grammy Awards winner was briefly hospitalized and has since returned home, where he is currently recovering.

Doctors have instructed Stevens to wear a neck brace for the next four weeks, but despite the injury, he remains mobile and in good spirits while healing.

Another Health Challenge After Last Year’s Heart Scare

The fall comes less than a year after Stevens faced another health scare.

In July 2025, the country icon experienced a mild heart attack after feeling chest pain. He was hospitalized in Nashville and underwent a minimally invasive heart catheterization procedure.

A few weeks later, doctors performed a second procedure, placing two stents to treat additional blockages.

After spending several days in a Nashville rehabilitation facility, Stevens returned home to continue recovering.

A New Album Is Still on the Way

Despite the recent injury, Stevens’ music plans are moving forward.

His upcoming album Favorites Old & New is still scheduled to release April 10 via Curb Records.

The 13-song project blends classic standards and brand-new songs, showcasing the humor, charm, and musical versatility that have defined Stevens’ decades-long career.

“I had a lot of fun creating this album, Favorites Old & New,” Stevens shared. “It really does contain a few of my favorite old songs as well as favorite new ones penned by some talented writers. I just hope Ray Stevens fans enjoy it as much as Ray Stevens!”

A Mix of Timeless Classics and New Music

The album features Stevens’ interpretations of beloved standards like:

  • The Look of Love
  • It Had to Be You
  • Come Rain or Come Shine

Alongside those classics, fans will also hear brand-new songs including:

  • “I Guess You’ve Never Been in Love With the Moon”
  • “Moving Out is Easier Than Moving On”
  • “Time Machine”

The result is a project that combines nostalgia with fresh storytelling, something Stevens has always done best.

Fans Are Sending Their Support

With a career spanning decades, Ray Stevens has long been known as one of country music’s most beloved entertainers.

From comedy classics like The Streak to heartfelt ballads and timeless standards, his music has entertained generations of fans.

Now, those fans are hoping for a smooth and speedy recovery as the country legend heals.
