Alan Jackson Gets Emotional During His Farewell Tour Performance in Orlando
|Country music legend Alan Jackson is taking his final bow as he closes out his farewell tour, Last Call: One More for the Road. Though he originally kicked off the tour in 2022, a temporary break and his Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease diagnosis put things on hold. But Jackson wasn’t ready to say goodbye just yet. Now, he’s back on stage, giving fans one last chance to see him live before his final show on May 17 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
A Night of Nostalgia at the Kia Center
With his touring days winding down, Alan Jackson is savoring every moment—and his recent show at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, proved just that. One of the most heartfelt moments of the night came when Jackson performed “Drive”, a song deeply personal to him and his fans alike.
@mskate311 Bittersweet saying goodbye to my all time favorite of over 30 years! Thanks for all the years of REAL country music @Alan Jackson #greatestofalltime #alanjacksonmusic #orlandoflorida #kiacenter #lastcalltour2025 ♬ Gone Country – Alan Jackson
Before launching into the 2002 hit, Jackson took a moment to reflect on its meaning.
“I wrote this song after my daddy passed away,” he told the crowd. “I didn’t want it to be just another sad song—I wanted it to capture the memories we shared. Growing up, all I ever wanted to do was drive something, and he taught me how. That’s what this song is about.”
A Farewell Filled with Emotion
As Jackson sang, the weight of the moment became clear—not just for the audience, but for the singer himself. When he reached the final chorus, he paused, visibly moved. It wasn’t just another performance; it was a tribute to his father and a farewell to the stage he’s commanded for decades.
With his farewell tour nearing its end, it’s clear that saying goodbye isn’t easy—not for Alan Jackson, and certainly not for his fans.
