Willie Nelson, 91, Continues to Cancel Tour Dates Due to Unknown Illness

Willie Nelson has canceled another tour appearance, and this time there’s no rescheduled date provided.

Just hours before he was due to perform in Virginia Beach on Wednesday, a note was posted on Nelson’s social media pages informing fans that the 91-year-old singer would not be taking the stage as planned.

This announcement follows a recent cancellation of his tour opener in Georgia, where he cited not feeling well as the reason.

The initial wave of disappointing news arrived on June 21, when Nelson canceled the first scheduled performance of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour.

A statement posted on social media explained, “We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and rejoin the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.”

However, less than a week later, Nelson announced yet another cancellation.

“Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight’s show in Virginia Beach. We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly.”

Although Nelson was unable to perform, the show still featured notable acts such as Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse. Additionally, Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, and his band were scheduled to perform their own set, including some of Nelson’s classics.

As of June 27, Nelson’s website lists his next tour date in Syracuse, NY on June 28. However, with his return date still uncertain, it remains unclear whether Nelson will be able to perform.

We hope Willie Nelson recovers quickly from whatever is preventing him from performing.
