Unseen on Gilligan’s Island: The Blooper That Slipped Through

It’s hard to find someone who has never seen an episode of *Gilligan’s Island*. Although it only aired for a few seasons and was on decades ago, it has become one of the most beloved and popular reruns of all time.

Despite its modest budget, the show did its best to avoid mistakes. However, blunders still happened, and now we can look back at those bloopers and laugh.

For instance, the SS Minnow, the boat the castaways were stranded on, underwent several changes throughout the show. It was sometimes shown on its side, sometimes upright, and it even varied in size, shape, and color.

Another enduring mystery is the so-called “eighth person.” Although there were seven people on board, a careful look at the opening credits reveals what seems to be an extra passenger.

Gilligan, described as a “mighty sailing man,” was no stranger to mistakes. While these blunders were all in good fun, they sometimes weren’t noticed until the episodes had aired.
