Unrecognizable: Mark Harmon, 72, Sheds Clean-Cut ‘NCIS’ Image Before Filming Begins on ‘Freaky Friday 2’

Mark Harmon was recently spotted looking almost unrecognizable just before Disney announced that the actor would return for the highly anticipated sequel to *Freaky Friday*.

Harmon, aged 72, is set to rejoin Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan on the big screen for the sequel to the 2003 body-swap comedy, which is scheduled for a nationwide release in 2025.

Disney has released the first behind-the-scenes photo from the project, featuring Curtis and Lohan — who reprise their roles as the mother-daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman — excitedly holding hands on set during the first day of filming this past Monday.

Lindsay Lohan shared a series of clips on Instagram from the set of *Freaky Friday 2*, capturing her joyful reunion with Jamie Lee Curtis and exclaiming in the caption, “We’re back!” Curtis also posted the same video montage with the caption, “FREAK OUT TIME.”

Meanwhile, Mark Harmon, who will reprise his role as Ryan, Anna’s stepdad, in the upcoming film, was recently seen running errands in Los Angeles. He appeared far more casual than his familiar look from his days on the CBS crime drama *NCIS*.

Mark Harmon, who was known for his polished portrayal of Marine Corps sniper turned special agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs on *NCIS*, has embraced a more relaxed style since departing the show in October 2021.

In *Freaky Friday 2*, Harmon will be seen with other returning cast members such as Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao. The film will also introduce new talents including Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons to the lineup.

The reunion of the beloved cast has generated excitement among fans of the original film. The return of Curtis and Lohan has been particularly anticipated. Curtis’s enthusiasm was clear in her social media posts, and Lohan’s happiness at being back on set with her on-screen mother was equally evident.

The original “Freaky Friday,” released in 2003, became a cult classic cherished for its humor and heartfelt moments. The sequel aims to recapture that magic, bringing back the characters fans loved and introducing new faces to the mix. Although the storyline details remain under wraps, the involvement of the original cast members suggests that the sequel will stay true to the spirit of the first film while offering fresh twists and turns.

Harmon’s return to the big screen in such a beloved franchise marks a significant moment in his career, especially after his long tenure on “NCIS.” Fans are eager to see how his character, Ryan, has evolved and what new dynamics will unfold between him, Tess, and Anna.
