The Kelly Clarkson Show Says Goodbye After Seven Seasons in a Bittersweet Final Episode

After seven seasons, more than 1,200 episodes and 24 Daytime Emmy Awards, Kelly Clarkson has officially closed the curtain on her beloved daytime talk show.

The final episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show aired Monday, August 31, bringing an emotional end to a remarkable chapter that began in 2019.

But Kelly didn’t say goodbye alone.

For the finale, her children, River Rose and Remington Alexander, joined her, making an already emotional moment even more personal.

A Goodbye Filled With Music

Music had always been at the heart of Kelly’s show, and the finale stayed true to that.

The special “Kelly By Request” episode gave fans the chance to choose some of the songs they most wanted to hear her perform. She revisited favorites including “Since U Been Gone,” “Sober,” “Stronger,” “Piece by Piece” and “Didn’t I,” while also performing the much-requested “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters.

Kelly also performed her new song “I’d Be Lying,” giving viewers one more reminder that although the talk show is ending, her music career certainly isn’t.

Then Her Kids Joined Her

One of the most touching parts of the farewell was seeing how much Kelly’s children had grown since the show first began.

When the series premiered, River was still in kindergarten. Now, seven seasons later, she is 12, while Remington is 10.

Their appearance gave Kelly a chance to reflect on something far more important than television ratings or awards: being their mom.

River even told her mother, “I like watching you shine every single day.”

The simple words were enough to bring tears to Kelly’s eyes—and to make the audience emotional as well.

Why Kelly Decided to Walk Away

Clarkson announced earlier this year that Season 7 would be her last, explaining that stepping away from the daily schedule would allow her to prioritize her children and family. She made clear that this wasn’t a goodbye to music or television altogether.

She plans to continue making music and is also set to return to The Voice later this month.

After seven years, thousands of conversations, unforgettable performances and countless “Kellyoke” moments, the show has reached its final note.

But perhaps the most fitting part of the finale was that Kelly ended the journey surrounded by the people who matter most to her.

The show may be over. The music isn’t. And Kelly Clarkson’s next chapter is only beginning.
