Stunning Men Captivate Audience with Heartfelt Performance of ‘I Will Always Love You’

Il Divo, the renowned operatic group brought to life by Simon Cowell’s vision, has been a musical staple for years. This multinational ensemble features four talented tenors: Urs Buhler from Switzerland, Carlos Marin from Spain, David Miller from the United States, and Sebastien Izambard from France.

Since their formation in 2003, Il Divo has captivated audiences worldwide with their impressive discography, which includes over ten albums of stunning performances. Their global appeal is evident in their extensive tours, where they have played to millions of fans. On their first tour alone, they sold over two million tickets and performed in 69 cities across 18 countries, showcasing their remarkable impact on the international music scene.

The multi-platinum selling classical crossover pioneers—Urs Bühler (Swiss tenor), Sébastien Izambard (French tenor), David Miller (US tenor), and the late Carlos Marin (Spanish tenor)—were originally brought together in 2004 by music mogul Simon Cowell following a global talent search.

Among their many highlights, Il Divo has sold out tours on multiple continents and performed with Toni Braxton at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. That same year, they were special guests on Barbra Streisand’s tour.

They met the late Queen Elizabeth II on three separate occasions and were personally invited to be part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Windsor Castle.

In 2011, Il Divo was honored at the Classic Brit Awards at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where they were named Artist of the Decade.

“Simon Cowell essentially wanted to find a way to blend classical voices with his favorite genre, pop music, and the songs he really enjoyed,” Miller explains.

“He conducted an audition search and found the four of us. Then he put us in a room and said, ‘Here are some songs, what can you do with them?'” Miller recalls.

“I remember after five years thinking, ‘Wow, we’re still doing this!’ When we hit our tenth anniversary and were celebrated as Artist of the Decade at the Classic Brits, it really hit us: this might be the rest of our lives. Now, here we are 20 years later, still going strong, still creating things we can be proud of. We’ve had our ups and downs, but we’re definitely looking forward to the next 20 years as Il Divo.”

Tragedy struck in 2021 when original co-founder Carlos Marin passed away due to COVID-19 at the age of 53.

They made the brave decision to return to touring just two months later, with Mexican-American baritone Stephen LaBrie stepping in as a guest vocalist for nearly a year of dates.

Eventually, they decided to make their arrangement with LaBrie permanent, and earlier this year, they released a new record titled “XX: 20th Anniversary Album.”

To further celebrate the milestone, they will embark on a UK tour, including a date at the London Palladium on October 16.

LaBrie says he has felt “welcomed with open arms” by the fans since first stepping on stage with Il Divo two years ago and is looking forward to hitting the road again.
