Sophia Loren, 89, Makes First Public Appearance Months After Fall at Swiss Home

Sophia Loren, 89, appeared to be in good spirits during a rare public outing earlier this week.

The Oscar-winning actress was spotted dining with friends at the celebrity hotspot Cipriani in Beverly Hills.

In September 2023, the Italian-born actress suffered a fall at her home in Switzerland, sustaining multiple serious fractures that required surgery and a few months of recovery.

Her two sons, Carlo Ponti Jr., 55, and Edoardo Ponti, 51, were by her bedside, and well-wishes poured in from around the world.

“I thank everyone for the closeness and affection they have been showing me. I’m better, I just need to do rehabilitation and take some time off,” a representative shared on her behalf.

In November, her management team issued another statement, assuring fans that her recovery was progressing “very well.” However, since then, Loren has chosen to maintain a low profile, staying out of the public eye.

On March 14, 2024, Loren made a notable appearance at the Damiani Centenary gala dinner at Teatro Alcione in Milan.

Yet, it’s only recently that we’ve had the chance to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood actress out and about in public. And true to form, she looked as stunning as ever.
