Reba McEntire Named as Host of Christmas in Rockefeller Center

Reba Brings Her Holiday Spirit to New York

Country music legend Reba McEntire is officially spreading some holiday cheer this season! The beloved entertainer has been announced as the host of this year’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center”, the iconic NBC special that marks the start of the Christmas season with the lighting of the world-famous tree.

“Reba’s about to light up your holiday season!” the announcement read — and fans couldn’t agree more.

In an interview with People, Reba shared her excitement about being part of the cherished tradition:

“I’m really excited to get to go to New York City in December. I’ve never been there in December,” she said. “To see all the Christmas decorations and to get to be a part of the tree lighting ceremony, Rockefeller Center — it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do, and I’m honored that they asked me to do it.”

Taking the Baton from Kelly Clarkson

Reba will take over hosting duties from her good friend (and former daughter-in-law) Kelly Clarkson, who hosted the special in both 2023 and 2024 — and also wowed fans with unforgettable live performances.

When it comes to braving New York’s winter chill, Reba already has a plan.

“I’m going to triple, quadruple layer,” she laughed. “I’ll probably have my heated vest on, and all the clothes I can — insulated underwear and all.”
