Official Announcement: Adam Levine Is Returning to The Voice as a Coach for Season 27!

Adam Levine is set to make his much-anticipated return to The Voice after a five-year hiatus! NBC announced today that the Maroon 5 lead singer will be back as a coach for Season 27 of the popular singing competition. He will be joined by an impressive lineup of coaches including John Legend, Michael Bublé, and Kelsea Ballerini.

Levine, a founding coach of the American version of The Voice, quickly became a favorite alongside fellow original coach Blake Shelton. The two developed a brotherly rivalry that was a hit with fans from the start. “It really was like watching two brothers try to beat each other up on TV every week,” Shelton remarked during a guest appearance on the Season 25 finale.

Has Adam Levine Won The Voice?

Indeed, Adam Levine has claimed victory on “The Voice” three times: he triumphed in Season 1 with Javier Colon, in Season 5 with Tessanne Chin, and in Season 9 with Jordan Smith. Among the show’s coaches, he ranks third in overall wins, trailing only Blake Shelton, who has nine wins, and Kelly Clarkson, with four. Aside from Shelton, Levine holds the record for the longest tenure, serving as a coach for 16 consecutive seasons.

Discussing his departure from the show in a 2019 interview with Howard Stern, Levine said, “I was ready to not be doing it anymore… for a little bit. When it all naturally happened, I was like, ‘Okay, this feels right.’ This was the right time for me to go. For eight-and-a-half years, I was so busy — with the band, with The Voice. I was beyond fortunate to go through all of it because it was a life-altering experience being on that show… and then it got to the point where I got married, had two kids, and I wanted to spend time with them.”

The coaching panel for Season 26 of The Voice includes returning champions Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani, along with newcomers Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. The official premiere date is yet to be announced.

Reba McEntire won the most recent, Season 25 of The Voice, coaching contestant Asher HaVon. All episodes of this season are available for streaming on Peacock.
