Miranda Lambert Shakes Up the Stage with a Daring Twist Flips the Script on “Little Red Wagon” Lyrics and Reminds Everyone She’s the Unstoppable Queen of Sass and Surprises!
|With the ACM Awards right around the corner, let’s take a little stroll down memory lane and relive one of Miranda Lambert’s most talked-about moments — the time she sent a little blazing shade toward her ex, Blake Shelton.
During one of her ACM performances, Miranda hit the stage with a fiery medley of hits like “Kerosene” and “Gunpowder and Lead.” But the real mic-drop moment came when she sang “Little Red Wagon” — and switched up the lyrics! Instead of the original “I live in Oklahoma,” Miranda belted out “I got the hell out of Oklahoma” — loud, proud, and with Blake sitting right there in the audience.
The fact @mirandalambert actually said I got the hell out of Oklahoma 😂😂👏👏 pic.twitter.com/Kgxa2FpWk0

Now, to be fair, Miranda had been using that sassy new line for a while, but this was the first time she sang it with Blake in the same room. Naturally, fans were glued to their screens, waiting for the cameras to catch his reaction. Talk about awkward! But that’s Miranda — bold, unfiltered, and always keeping it real.
And while the two have their share of playful jabs, Miranda has always spoken fondly of the song “Over You,” which she co-wrote with Blake about his late brother. She once said, “I’m glad we shared that song and that it helped his family heal, to have that together.” Proof that even when the flames die out, respect can stick around.
And Who Could Forget the Ashton Kutcher Drama?
Back in 2012, Miranda didn’t hold back when Ashton Kutcher showed up to the ACMs dressed like a cowboy clown and awkwardly sang George Strait’s “I Cross My Heart.” Fans weren’t sure if he was being funny or just plain disrespectful, and Miranda wasn’t shy about calling it what it was — “a dumb moment in ACM history.”
Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I’m kinda wondering?

But, in true Miranda style, she softened the blow later when she met Ashton at the Kentucky Derby. She shared that he actually does love real country music — so all’s well that ends well.
