Michael Bublé Shocks Fans With His Secret to Balancing Stardom and a Blissful Family Life—You Won’t Believe How He “Keeps the Flame Alive!”
|Michael Bublé, one of the newest celebrity coaches on The Voice, knows better than anyone how music can captivate listeners. But his expertise took an unexpected turn when his career led him to meet his wife, Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato.
How did a Canadian crooner end up finding love with a Latina TV star? Surprisingly, the story is quite straightforward. Michael Bublé and Luisana Lopilato met in November 2008 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while he was touring South America. Around that time, he had recently split from actress Emily Blunt. Meanwhile, Luisana was already well-known for her role in the telenovela Rebelde Way and as a member of the pop-rock group Erreway.
A Love Story for the Ages
It didn’t take long for Luisana Lopilato to become an important part of Michael Bublé’s life. In fact, she inspired his 2009 mega-hit “Haven’t Met You Yet” from his Crazy Love album. When it came time to film the music video, it made perfect sense for Michael to cast Luisana as his leading lady. Reflecting on that moment, he told People in January 2022, “I never believed that 15 years later, we’d have gone through all the things we’ve gone through and that we’d have three beautiful kids.”
By November 2009, the couple was officially engaged. Their happy news was announced two months later, and in March 2011, Michael and Luisana tied the knot. They first wed in a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires, then followed it up with a second wedding in Canada in May 2011.
In August 2013, the couple welcomed their first child, son Noah. Michael shared the birth announcement on Instagram. Their second son, Elias, arrived in January 2016. However, the couple’s lives took a challenging turn when Noah was diagnosed with cancer at just three years old. Despite this difficult time, Michael and Luisana have continued to grow stronger together.
“We’re heartbroken over our oldest son Noah’s recent cancer diagnosis. He’s currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.,” Michael shared on Facebook in November 2016. “We’ve always spoken openly about how important our family is and how much we love our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold so we can dedicate all our time and attention to helping Noah recover. We know it’s a long journey ahead, but with the love and support of our family, friends, and fans around the world, we hope to win this fight, God willing.”
During his acceptance of the National Arts Centre Award in Ottawa, Canada, in June 2017, Michael couldn’t help but recognize his wife’s incredible strength. “There are no words to describe how I feel about you,” he said at the time. “Sometimes ‘I love you’ just isn’t enough, because what I feel is so much more.”
Thankfully, after 18 months of treatment, Noah was given a clean bill of health. With their son on the mend, Michael and Luisana were able to focus on the life they were building—one that welcomed their daughter Vida in July 2018. According to Michael’s rep, her name, which means “life” in Spanish, holds special meaning and pays tribute to her mother’s Latin roots. The family grew once more in August 2022 with the birth of their fourth child, daughter Cielo, completing the couple’s family of six.
With such trials and tribulations, it’s amazing to see Michael and Luisana so strong in their relationship. But as he shared with Red magazine, there’s a secret to keeping the romance alive.
“More than anything, my wife and I understand that each other’s fulfillment is important,” he said at the time. “I’m not saying we’re perfect — nobody is — but we both have that understanding. I won’t be touring for certain months next year because she’ll be filming a movie, and so I’ll be Daddy on set, and then she’ll do the same for me. We don’t care what we do — being together is the goal.”
