Meet Rachel Parton George: Dolly Parton’s Youngest Sister Who Shined on Stage—and in the Kitchen!

When you think of the legendary Parton family, Dolly is, of course, the glittering star. But behind her bright spotlight stands a tribe of talented siblings—none more heartwarming than her youngest sister, Rachel Parton George.

As the baby of 12 children, Rachel has always marched to the beat of her own drum. From singing and acting to now co-authoring a cookbook with Dolly, Rachel has carved out a path that’s all her own—rooted in love, music, and family traditions.

This year, Rachel teamed up with Dolly to release Good Lookin’ Cookin’, a cookbook filled with cherished recipes straight from the Parton family kitchen. It’s a beautiful tribute to their mother, Avie Lee Owens, whose home-cooked meals not only fed 14 mouths but filled a house with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

“Dolly cooks a lot like our mother,” Rachel shared. “This book gave us a chance to share memories and recipes.”

The cookbook is more than just food—it’s a storybook of family, packed with warm memories of Avie Lee’s legacy, their childhood in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, and the bond that tied the siblings together.

Rachel’s connection with Dolly has always been strong. She left school after eighth grade to travel with her big sister, helping with makeup, singing backup, and joining Dolly on tours. “We’ve always gotten along really good,” Dolly said. “It’s been a joy to create with Rachel.”

Rachel’s love for music started at home, where their father strummed guitar and their mother sang hymns. “Singing was like breathing,” Rachel once said—and their house often turned into a stage, with family jam sessions around the dinner table.

She went on to star in the TV sitcom 9 to 5, based on Dolly’s hit film, and was the lead singer of the band Honey Creek, which she formed with her late brother, Randy Parton. Whether in front of the camera or behind a microphone, Rachel always let her own voice shine.

Now married to Eric Wilson George, Rachel lives a quieter life, but her creativity and spirit still pour out through her work. Her journey is a beautiful reminder that in the Parton family, every member has a song to sing—and Rachel’s tune is rich with heart.

If you’re a fan of Dolly, you’ll love Good Lookin’ Cookin’—a recipe book that’s as much about food as it is about love, family, and a legacy that’s still going strong. ❤️
