Lainey Wilson Brings Country Spirit to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
Just one week after being crowned the 2025 CMA Entertainer of the Year, Lainey Wilson traded Nashville stages for New York City streets — spreading holiday cheer at the iconic Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

This year marked the parade’s 99th anniversary, kicking off bright and early live on NBC at 8:30 AM. Millions watching from home — and thousands lining the parade route — were treated to music from Cynthia Erivo, Mickey Guyton, Colbie Caillat, Russell Dickerson, Christopher Jackson, Foreigner, and more. But one of the most anticipated moments of the morning came when Lainey Wilson stepped into Herald Square.
A Festive Performance Before Santa’s Arrival
Lainey performed near the end of the parade — right before Santa himself made his grand entrance — turning the corner of 34th Street into a country Christmas celebration.
She looked every bit the holiday star, dressed in:
-
A bright red fluffy coat
-
A long black jacket with gold embellishments
-
Black fringed gloves
-
Gold earrings
-
Her signature plain black cowboy hat
It was the perfect blend of country charm and New York City holiday sparkle.

Two Songs, Two Vibes, One Unforgettable Moment
Lainey delivered two standout performances:
✨ “Somewhere Over Laredo” — her Grammy-nominated hit
✨ “Peace, Love, and Cowboys” — performed with a festive holiday twist
Her voice filled Herald Square as cameras panned across cheering crowds and soaring parade balloons. It was warm, nostalgic, and full of the heartfelt country storytelling fans love her for.
A Thanksgiving to Remember
Between her massive CMA win and this high-profile holiday performance, Lainey Wilson is ending 2025 on a powerful note — proving once again why she’s become one of the biggest names in modern country music.
