Dolly Parton Will Receive a Major Humanitarian Honor And It Comes After Her Passing

Dolly Parton may no longer be here to accept the honor herself, but her legacy of helping others will continue to be celebrated.

The Country Radio Broadcasters (CRB) has announced that Dolly Parton will be honored with its Artist Humanitarian Award, recognizing the extraordinary impact she made not only through her music, but also through decades of philanthropy.

The announcement comes just a little over a month after Dolly’s death at the age of 80 on August 25.

Among the many causes connected to Dolly’s name, her work with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library stands out as one of her most lasting contributions. The program has helped put books into the hands of children and families, reflecting Dolly’s lifelong belief in the power of education and reading.

The humanitarian award will be presented during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville in March 2027, giving the country music community another opportunity to remember a woman whose influence reached far beyond the stage.

CRS Executive Director RJ Curtis shared an emotional message about the upcoming tribute.

“Though she won’t be with us in person at CRS, her extraordinary spirit and enduring commitment to making the world a better place will continue to inspire us all.”

That may be the most fitting part of this honor.

Dolly spent decades using her fame to lift others up, support children, help communities and give back in ways that went far beyond her music career. Even after her passing, those efforts continue to touch lives.

When the award is presented in Nashville next March, Dolly won’t be there to walk onto the stage or hear the applause herself.

But the work she left behind will be.

And perhaps that is the most meaningful tribute of all.
