Darci Lynne Brings Elvis’s “Trouble” Back With a Fiery Tribute

Darci Lynne, Season 12 champion of America’s Got Talent, recently honored Elvis Presley on what would have been his 89th birthday with a stunning at-home performance of “Trouble.” Known for her natural stage presence and powerhouse vocals, Darci gave the classic hit a fresh jolt of energy, reminding fans just how electrifying the King’s music still is.

But the clip wasn’t just about the song. Midway through, viewers caught a playful cameo from Darci’s mom, who popped into the background flashing a cheeky hand signal from the staircase. Darci leaned into the fun, posting the video online with the caption: “Happy Birthday Elvis 🎂🎶 See my late mother at the end as well #elvispresley.”

This isn’t her first time tackling “Trouble.” Back in September 2023, she wowed followers with an impromptu a cappella version straight from her kitchen, explaining how much she admired the rebellious spirit the track carries.

For those who don’t know, “Trouble” first appeared in Elvis’s 1958 film King Creole, where he performed it as Danny Fisher, a fiery young rebel trying to impress a girl in a nightclub. Written by the legendary duo Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, the song quickly became one of Elvis’s signature anthems of defiance.

Its legacy has stretched across generations — most recently revived in 2022 when Austin Butler delivered his own version in the Oscar-nominated Elvis biopic. And now, thanks to Darci Lynne’s spirited tribute, the song continues to echo forward, proving once again that Elvis’s music is timeless, and rebellion never really goes out of style.
