**Hoda Kotb Shares Terrifying Update on Daughter Hope’s ICU Health Scare**

Hoda Kotb recently revealed chilling new details about her daughter Hope’s health crisis last year. According to reports, the four-year-old was admitted to intensive care for several days in early 2023, remaining hospitalized for over a week. While the family chose not to disclose the specific diagnosis due to Hope’s young age, Kotb emphasized the necessity of constant medical monitoring during the initial stages of her illness.

Reflecting on the harrowing experience earlier this week, the Today co-host opened up about the ongoing journey toward maintaining Hope’s health. Kotb expressed the family’s efforts to establish a sense of normalcy amidst the uncertainty, outlining their long-term plan.

“We had a scary stretch,” Kotb shared, as reported by the Huffington Post.

“Any parent who’s been through a scary thing with their child understands. It’s like you just can’t believe that your child’s sick. You can’t believe that there’s nothing you can do. You can’t believe that no matter what you do, you can’t will it away or protect her, or all the things that we’re supposed to be doing as parents. And it’s a position I’ve never found myself in.”

In February 2023, Kotb took a two-week hiatus from Today to care for her daughter. As a mother of seven-year-old Haley as well, she emphasized the importance of managing her own anxieties to provide a supportive environment for Hope’s recovery.
