Scotty McCreery Just Released a Christmas Song With a Powerful Message “King Size Bed” Celebrates the True Meaning of the Season

While many people were still getting ready for Halloween, Scotty McCreery was already bringing a little Christmas magic to the music world. But his latest holiday release isn’t simply another cheerful song about decorations, presents, or the excitement of December. This one carries a much deeper message.

The country star released his brand-new Christmas song, “King Size Bed,” on Friday, October 30, and its heartfelt message centers on the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

McCreery couldn’t resist getting a head start on the holiday season. Sharing a preview on Instagram, he joked about releasing Christmas music before Halloween had even arrived:

“Couldn’t even make it past Halloween without releasing Christmas music.”

And once fans hear what he has created, they’ll understand why he was so excited to share it.

A Christmas Song With a Message at Its Heart

Described in the official press release as a string-filled ballad centered around the Nativity, “King Size Bed” takes listeners back to the humble manger where the Christmas story began.

The song was co-written by McCreery alongside Brent Anderson, Jeremy Bussey, Monty Criswell, Derek George, Bobby Hamrick, and Frank Rogers.

For McCreery, the inspiration was deeply personal. He has never hidden his love for Christmas music, but this time he wanted to create something that reminded listeners why the holiday is celebrated in the first place.

“I love Christmas music and sing it all year long. With ‘King Size Bed,’ I wanted to celebrate the true reason for the season – the birth of Jesus Christ,” he explained.

That intention comes through in the song’s gentle arrangement and meaningful lyrics.

The Meaning Behind the Unusual Title

“King Size Bed” opens with a soft acoustic guitar before McCreery’s unmistakable voice leads listeners into the Nativity story.

The song builds around a beautiful contrast: a tiny baby lying in a humble manger, yet destined to be the Savior and King.

One of its most memorable moments comes in the chorus:

“Oh, how the angels sang,
Oh, how the whole world changed,
Oh, God blessed the day,
A little baby Savior turned a tiny manger,
Into a king size bed.”

It’s a simple but powerful image that gives the song its title and its emotional center.

Rather than focusing on the commercial side of Christmas, McCreery brings the attention back to the meaning behind the celebration.

Scotty McCreery Is Bringing Christmas Early

McCreery has given country music fans plenty of reasons to look forward to the holiday season, and “King Size Bed” offers something a little different from the usual Christmas playlist.

The warm acoustic opening, sweeping strings, and heartfelt delivery make it a song that feels especially suited to a quiet Christmas evening.

Whether listeners discover it in October or save it for December, the message remains the same: Christmas is about much more than what is underneath the tree.
