Rod Stewart, 73, Learns the Floss from His 7-Year-Old Son—Crowd Goes Wild in Nashville!
|Sir Rod Stewart Proves Age Is Just a Number with Son Aiden
He may be 73, but that hasn’t stopped Sir Rod Stewart from keeping pace with his kids. On Thursday night (August 2), fans in Nashville got a sweet surprise as Rod showed off his dance skills alongside his 7-year-old son, Aiden. In a clip posted by his wife, Penny Lancaster, Aiden can be seen teaching his dad the floss before busting out a few breakdancing moves—much to Rod’s delight.
Clearly thrilled, the rock legend performed “Stay With Me” with Aiden right by his side, sharing the spotlight in front of thousands of cheering fans. Recently, Rod opened up about how he now plans his tours around his eight children.
“I’ve got two youngsters, 8 children altogether,” he told ITV’s Lorraine. “I plan my tours around the kids’ holidays. This weekend we’re all off to Florida, where I start a US tour—during their break. Of course, that won’t last forever, as they might not want to tour with dad one day.”
Rod also touched on the challenges of being away for his older children, Kim and Sean, due to constant touring.
“They didn’t see much of their dad, and there were some bad feelings about it,” he admitted. “I explained, ‘Listen, I wasn’t out partying every night—I was working my bum off, because I was in debt to the tune of about $1 million.’ I had to work my way out of debt.”
Despite the tough moments, it’s clear that family takes center stage for Rod these days. With show-stopping performances like this floss dance cameo, it’s no wonder fans can’t get enough of this rock icon’s multigenerational appeal.
