Kane & Katelyn Brown’s Hit “Thank God” Is Being Turned Into a Christmas Movie

Kane Brown and his wife, Katelyn Brown, are taking their chart-topping love song “Thank God” to the big screen — or rather, to the cozy glow of the Lifetime Channel. The couple’s hit duet is being adapted into a Christmas movie, and fans can’t wait to see how this romantic tune comes to life.

From Duet to Holiday Movie Magic

Kane and Katelyn released “Thank God” on September 12, 2022, marking their very first duet together. The song quickly became a fan favorite, hitting No. 1 on the Country Airplay chart in February 2023. That milestone made it only the second duet by a married couple to ever reach the top — the first being Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “It’s Your Love” back in 1997.

Since its debut, “Thank God” has gone 3× Platinum, selling over 3 million units, and even earned the Browns Video of the Year at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. Directed by Alex Alvga, the video features the couple performing in a breathtaking tropical paradise, perfectly capturing the song’s romantic energy.

The song has since become a staple of Kane’s live shows — and when Katelyn joins him on tour to perform it, the crowd goes wild. One of the most unforgettable performances happened at Fenway Park in Boston, where fans sang along to every word.

“Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch”

Now, that same heartfelt story of love and gratitude is getting a new twist — as a Lifetime holiday movie titled “Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch.”

The film will star Arielle Kebbel (Nine Perfect Strangers, Midnight Texas) and Tyler Hilton (One Tree Hill), bringing to life a tender story inspired by the themes of the hit song.

While Kane and Katelyn won’t appear on screen, they’re both serving as Executive Producers on the project. In a statement shared with Billboard, the couple expressed their excitement:

“The song ‘Thank God’ is so special to us. We love performing it on stage, and it’s incredible how it’s connected with so many fans. We also really love Christmas and celebrating as a family. So for these two worlds to collide, we couldn’t be more excited!”

 The Story Behind the Movie

According to Lifetime, the movie follows a hockey player (played by Hilton) who suffers an injury just before Christmas. As he recovers at Keller Ranch, he meets an equestrian therapist (played by Kebbel) who helps him heal — both physically and emotionally.

Executive Producer Adam Reed described the film as an emotional extension of the Browns’ beloved duet:

“This film captures the soul and universal themes behind Kane and Katelyn’s hit duet. Their music evokes a feeling that’s touched millions, and it’s a gift to bring that emotion to life on screen.”

 A Country Christmas Dream

Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive VP and Head of Programming for A&E, Lifetime, and LMN, added:

“We’re thrilled to have Kane and Katelyn join our Lifetime holiday family. Their music touches the heart and tells stories — and we’re excited to transform one of those stories into an extraordinary movie experience.”

When Will It Premiere?

Lifetime hasn’t yet announced the premiere date for “Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch,” but fans can expect a release during the upcoming holiday season.

One thing’s for sure — if the movie captures even half the warmth, love, and charm of Kane and Katelyn’s original song, it’s going to be one of the year’s most memorable Christmas films.
