It’s About Time! Sam Elliott Is Finally Getting a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star And There’s Another Country Legend in the Class

Sam Elliott is officially headed to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The legendary actor was selected as part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2027, receiving the honor in the Motion Pictures category. He is among 32 entertainment professionals chosen from hundreds of nominations by the Walk of Fame Selection Committee.

For Elliott, the recognition marks another major moment in a career that has made him one of Hollywood’s most recognizable Western and character actors. His distinctive voice, signature mustache and unmistakable cowboy presence have made him a familiar face to generations of movie and television audiences.

But there’s another name in the 2027 class that will immediately catch the attention of country music fans.

Waylon Jennings is also receiving a star — posthumously — in the Recording category.

That puts two very different entertainment legends in the same Walk of Fame class, with Elliott representing Motion Pictures and Jennings being honored for his lasting contribution to music.

When Will Sam Elliott Get His Star?

There isn’t a ceremony date yet.

According to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Class of 2027 honorees have two years from the date of selection to schedule their ceremonies. The organization typically announces individual ceremonies about 10 days before the dedication.

So fans will have to wait a little longer to see Elliott officially take his place along Hollywood Boulevard.

The Walk of Fame announced the 2027 class in July, and Elliott’s name was included alongside major stars such as Idris Elba, Kate Hudson, Delroy Lindo and Sam Rockwell.

For fans who have watched Elliott spend decades bringing Western characters, tough-as-nails cowboys and unforgettable supporting roles to the screen, seeing his name finally set into the Hollywood pavement will be a special moment.

And with Waylon Jennings joining him in the same class, 2027 is already shaping up to be a memorable year for fans of classic country and the American West.
