Emily Ann Roberts Gets Her First CMA Nomination And Her Reaction Is Absolutely Priceless
Emily Ann Roberts just reached a huge milestone in her country music career. The singer has received her first-ever CMA Awards nomination, earning a spot in the New Artist of the Year category. But the nomination itself wasn’t the only memorable part. Roberts was watching the CMA nominations being announced on Thursday morning with her husband, Chris Sasser, from her tour bus. She was hoping to hear her name, but after the first few nominees were announced, she started to lose hope.

When Avery Anna and Carter Faith were called, Emily looked disappointed.
“I don’t think it’s gonna be this year,” she said.
Then the next name was announced.
Emily Ann Roberts.
Her reaction was priceless.
She jumped out of her seat, screamed, and kept repeating “No way!” as she tried to take in what had just happened.
Chris immediately celebrated with her.
“That is crazy… oh my gosh,” he said.

Emily hugged and high-fived those around her before turning off the camera so she could FaceTime her family and friends with the incredible news.
And this moment means even more considering how long she’s been chasing this dream.
Emily first appeared on The Voice in 2015 when she was just 17 years old. Since then, she has continued building her career, signing a record deal last summer and spending this year opening for major country stars including Cody Johnson and Megan Moroney.
Away from the stage, she’s also become known for her love of gardening, chickens, and the simple life at home — earning the adorable fan nickname “Yeehaw Meemaw.”
Now, she’s officially a CMA Awards nominee.
Roberts will compete against Avery Anna, Carter Faith, Tucker Wetmore, and Stephen Wilson Jr. for New Artist of the Year.
From a 17-year-old dreaming on The Voice to hearing her name called at the CMA nominations, this is a moment Emily Ann Roberts will never forget.
