17-Year-Old Isabella Juliet Didn’t Get A Chair Turn On ‘The Voice’ Then Riley Green Did Something Nobody Expected

The Blind Auditions for Season 30 of The Voice have officially come to an end, and while some singers earned spots on the coaches’ teams, others left the stage without a chair turn.

But for 17-year-old Isabella Juliet, leaving without a spot on a team didn’t mean leaving without a moment to remember.

Isabella stepped onto the stage ready to show the coaches what she could do, performing Lainey Wilson’s country hit “Things a Man Oughta Know” while playing acoustic guitar.

She also performed with one hand, following an amputation she experienced during childhood. But rather than making the moment about that, Isabella came to the stage for one reason: to sing.

And she clearly had the talent.

After her performance, Riley Green was the first coach to offer his thoughts.

“You got an awesome voice,” Green told her. “It was very believable, which is a huge thing when you’re singing country music.”

He admitted that it was a difficult decision and that Isabella had come very close to getting his chair to turn.

Ultimately, however, the coaches felt that nerves affected her performance.

Adam Levine explained that he believed the nerves were what held her back, while also telling Isabella that she had a beautiful voice.

For many contestants, that would have been the end of the night.

But Isabella’s story on The Voice wasn’t over yet.

Riley Green Gives Isabella An Unexpected Second Chance To Shine

During their conversation, Isabella revealed that she regularly posts singing videos online and has performed Riley Green’s songs before.

In fact, Green had already seen one of her videos — a cover of his song “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

That caught his attention.

Before Isabella left the stage, Riley asked her a question that completely changed the moment:

Would she sing the song with him?

Green picked up a guitar and began playing “Don’t Mind If I Do.” A few seconds later, Isabella joined him.

And something seemed to change.

The nerves that had been noticeable during her audition appeared to fade as Isabella sang alongside Green. She looked more comfortable, more confident and completely in her element.

The audience responded with cheers and applause, while the other coaches watched the unexpected duet unfold.

It was a beautiful reminder that sometimes a performance can reveal something completely different once the pressure of an audition disappears.

Fans watching the moment online noticed the same thing.

Many praised Riley for inviting Isabella to sing with him, saying she appeared much more relaxed and that her voice really came through during the duet.

One viewer wrote that Isabella “sounded much more relaxed,” while another called it “a lovely thing for him to do.”

Another fan pointed out that Isabella seemed to gain confidence once Riley started singing beside her.

And perhaps that is what makes this moment so special.

Isabella may not have received a chair turn on The Voice, but she walked away with something she probably never expected — a live duet with one of the show’s coaches and a chance to show everyone what her voice could really do.

Sometimes, the moments that don’t go according to plan end up becoming the moments people remember most.
