Robert De Niro Shares Family Snapshot, Cuddling With His 10-Month-Old Daughter Gia Gia Virginia Chen De Niro

Recently, Robert De Niro offered a peek into his private world, revealing the special connection he shares with his 10-month-old daughter, Gia. A unique photograph, which Page Six had the privilege to share, captures the 80-year-old “Goodfellas” icon tenderly holding Gia in his lap and softly pressing his cheek against her head.

This endearing image shows Gia flashing a charming smile while clad in an adorable onesie decorated with musical squirrels. In a conversation with People, De Niro couldn’t hide his affection for his sweet daughter, commenting, “She’s such an adorable baby. So sweet.”

The Academy Award-winning actor also light-heartedly discussed the distinctive family dynamics, especially with Gia being his seventh child, welcomed into the world when he was 79. De Niro mentioned how all his children, along with the grandchildren, are utterly delighted by their youngest family member. With a touch of humor, he added, “She’s their aunt — and they’re on the verge of becoming teenagers!”

Besides Gia, born in spring 2023 with his partner Tiffany Chen, De Niro’s family includes Drena, 56, Raphael, 47, 28-year-old twins Julian and Aaron, Elliot, 25, and Helen, 12. In a sorrowful turn of events last year, De Niro faced the loss of his grandchild, Drena’s son Leandro, who passed away at 19 due to an accidental overdose.

In a heartfelt interview with AARP last month, De Niro opened up about his profound bond with Gia, sharing how the rest of the world seems to disappear when he gazes at her. He characterized the feeling as “wondrous.”

When talking about his family dynamics with Chen and their daughter Gia, De Niro admitted to taking a lighter role in physical tasks owing to his age. He openly stated, “I’m present and supportive of my girlfriend. But she’s the one who’s really doing the work,” highlighting the value of support and assistance.

De Niro and Chen’s connection started in 2021, following their encounter during the production of his 2015 movie “The Intern.” Over time, their bond grew, culminating in the arrival of Gia in the spring of 2023. The acclaimed actor, celebrated for his roles in movies such as “Killers of the Flower Moon,” had earlier marriages to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 until 1988, and to Grace Hightower between 1997 and 2018.
