Robert’s Western World Plans Special Red Carpet Gala for Sammy Kershaw After CMA Controversy

In a powerful show of support for country music legend Sammy Kershaw, Nashville’s iconic Robert’s Western World is taking matters into its own hands after the singer revealed that his request to walk the red carpet at the 2026 CMA Awards had been denied.

Rather than simply expressing disappointment over the situation, the legendary honky tonk has announced plans to host its own red carpet gala on the very same night as the CMA Awards — and Sammy is at the center of the celebration.

The venue also made it clear that its invitation extends beyond Kershaw, welcoming other country artists who feel they were overlooked or denied the opportunity to attend the official red carpet.

Robert’s Western World Sends Sammy Kershaw a Personal Invitation

In a heartfelt social media message addressed directly to Sammy, Robert’s Western World revealed that it had seen his post and wanted to send him some custom merchandise from the famous Nashville venue.

The message also included a pointed comment about the state of country music’s leadership.

“We have been saying we feel the people in charge of ‘Country Music’ sold their souls a long time ago,” the venue wrote.

But Robert’s had something much bigger in mind.

The business officially invited Sammy and his wife to attend a special red carpet gala at Robert’s Western World on Wednesday evening, November 18, 2026 — the same night as the 60th Annual CMA Awards.

“Wednesday evening 11/18/2026, we would like to host a red carpet gala right here at RWW, for you, your bride and any other guests you would like. At Robert’s we will properly celebrate REAL Country music the night of the CMA’s,” the announcement read.

The Invitation Is Open to Other Country Artists, Too

Perhaps the most meaningful part of the announcement was that Robert’s Western World didn’t want the celebration to be exclusively about Sammy.

The venue specifically invited him to bring attention to other artists who were not invited or approved to walk the official CMA red carpet.

“We would like to celebrate you, your accomplishments, and the road you helped pave for so many newer artists,” the message continued.

“Also we would like to extend the invitation for any other artists you feel need to be on the Red Carpet but weren’t invited or approved to walk it! Just message us here and we will get it taken care of!”

The venue ended its message with a simple but powerful thank-you: “Thank you for speaking out!”

Sammy Kershaw’s CMA Red Carpet Controversy Sparks Country Music Support

The invitation comes after Kershaw publicly shared his disappointment over the CMA’s decision regarding his red carpet request.

The singer explained that he and his wife had been looking forward to attending this year’s milestone awards celebration. He had rearranged his touring schedule and made travel arrangements, only to learn that he would not be granted red carpet access.

His statement quickly attracted attention from fans and fellow country artists, including Riley Green, Jake Owen, Carly Pearce, Drew Baldridge and others who voiced their support.

Now, Robert’s Western World has offered Kershaw something he may not have expected: a red carpet celebration designed to recognize his career and the contributions of artists who helped shape country music.

A Different Kind of Celebration on November 18

The 60th Annual CMA Awards will take place on November 18, 2026, in Nashville. But that evening, Robert’s Western World plans to offer a different kind of celebration — one focused on honoring country music’s roots and the artists who helped pave the way.

For Sammy Kershaw, this invitation is about more than walking a red carpet. It’s a public acknowledgment of a career, a legacy, and the influence he has had on generations of country performers.

And with Robert’s opening its doors to other artists who may have been overlooked, this Nashville celebration could become one of the most talked-about moments surrounding this year’s CMA Awards.
