Seaver, who served as Parton’s head of security for more than two decades, said the announcement was something Dolly had asked him to make years ago, knowing that one day this moment would come.

He described the moment as filled with both “absolute pride and great sadness,” while emphasizing that the sadness belongs to the family—not Dolly.

He spoke about her faith and said she was now “in the arms of Jesus,” reunited with her late husband, Carl Dean, her parents and others who had gone before her.

A Legacy That Opened Doors for Millions

Seaver also reflected on growing up around his famous aunt and watching her influence extend far beyond music.

He recalled first going on the road with Dolly as a child in the early 1980s and said she opened doors not only for him and their family, but for generations of singers, songwriters, musicians and dreamers around the world.
