Drake White and Wife Alex Heartbroken After Losing Baby Daughter, Della Elizabeth

Country singer Drake White and his wife, Alex, are grieving the unimaginable loss of their newborn daughter, Della Elizabeth White.

The couple had shared their joyful pregnancy news in May, alongside sweet family photos with their son, Hawk. At the time, they told PEOPLE, “Hawk’s big brother duties are about to begin! We’re excited to welcome a baby girl to our family this November.” They also revealed their daughter would be named in honor of Alex’s grandmothers.

A Short but Precious Life

At just 29 weeks pregnant, Alex gave birth to Della Elizabeth at 8:52 AM on August 31. Tragically, their little girl passed away only minutes later, at 9:12 AM, peacefully going to be with Jesus.

Drake and Alex took time away to grieve before sharing the heartbreaking news on Sunday, September 7. In their statement, they wrote:

“On Sunday, August 31st our precious daughter, Della Elizabeth White, went peacefully to be with Jesus. We are so thankful for the holy moments God gave us with her. The Lord has been so near and close to us during this difficult time. He has held us up and sustained us through it all. We are heartbroken and soul tired, but we know we will get through this difficult time with the strength, peace, and joy that only our Heavenly Father can provide. May Della be held in the arms of Jesus until we see her again someday.”
