Performing with loved ones can be a dream come true, deepening family connections through shared passions. This was the case for Sidney Kimble West and her father, Sam West, when they took the stage at the 2020 National SHAG Dance Championships. Sam West, a quiet legend in the dance world, teamed up with his daughter for a mesmerizing performance to Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”

Sam West’s dance journey started at the age of nine, sparked by inspiration from his mother. His passion quickly grew, leading him to win two junior national titles with his dance partner, Terri Alberty, during his school years.
